FAQs application process

What are the application deadlines?

Applications can only be submitted once a year for each area of interest. Carer applications are invited in the spring with a view to awarding grants in the autumn. Rehabilitation applications are invited in the autumn and awarded in the following spring.  Click here for the full application timetable with the deadlines.  To be kept aware of future application dates please sign up to our mailing list.

I have already submitted an application, when should I hear if I’ve been successful?

Click here for the application timetable.

Can I discuss my ideas with the Triangle Trust before applying?

Yes, we want to give you the best possible chance of submitting a successful application.  We are therefore happy to discuss potential applications by email or telephone.

How much money can we apply for?

You can apply for a grant of up to £80,000 over three years with a maximum of £35,000 in year one.  We expect to see the amount requested in subsequent years tapering down as applicants develop other income streamsto replace the grant income.

Do you provide feedback for unsuccessful applications?

Yes. We want to make sure organisations have as much chance as possible of receiving a grant and will provide written feedback whenever requested to improve an organisation’s future chances of success.

What happens if our application is successful?

You will be notified by email as soon as the Trustees have completed their shortlisting.  All shortlisted applicants (usually 6 to 8 per application round) will be invited to go through to the second stage of the application process.  This involves a visit by our Director where you will be asked to present your proposal with a detailed budget and business plan and monitoring ideas.  Trustees will assess each of the Director’s visit reports to decide which organisations will go on to receive funding.  The final decision usually takes place 4-6 months after the initial application is submitted and grants must have started no later than the following February for Carer grants and July for Rehabilitation grants.
