FAQs types of development

Our recent strategic review highlighted that we need to increase our capacity to attract major donors and corporate partners, can we use your funding for this?

No. Our grants cannot be used to recruit a community or corporate fundraiser.

Our Local Authority is retendering all of its contracts in March. Can we use the Development grant to make sure we are ‘tender-ready’?

Yes. We encourage applications from organisations who are looking to make a developmental change to their organisation that will help them become more viable in the long term which includes making changes to make you better placed to secure a Local Authority contract.

We have recently been awarded a grant to develop our trading arm of the organisation but one of the conditions of the grant is that we secure additional funding. Can we apply to the Triangle Trust for this?

No. We do not provide match funding.

Our focus is on restorative justice. Are we eligible to apply?

No. Unfortunately we do not provide funding for restorative justice initiatives.

Because of the funding cuts we have seen a significant fall in income from our contracted services.  We really need to plug the funding gap until we implement our new funding strategy.  Can we apply for one of your grants to help with this?

No. Our grants are designed to help an organisation make a step-change development, not to cover a shortfall in income.

We are a new organisation and at the moment our income is not enough to cover our costs.  We are waiting to hear if we have been selected as regional service provider. Can we use your grant to cover our running costs until the outcome of the tender process?

No. Our grants are designed to help an organisation make a step-change development, not to cover a shortfall in income.

We provide information and support to adults and children with disabilities as well as their families and carers. Can we apply for a development grant?

We only fund organisations who support unpaid carers. Organisations providing support to the “cared for” as well as their carers eg patient support groups are not eligible to apply for one of our grants.

We want to develop the volunteer function of our charity which focuses on diverting vulnerable young people away from the criminal justice system.  Can we apply for one of your grants?

Although this type of development would be eligible for one of our grants we unfortunately do not fund crime prevention initiatives.
