Angus Carers Association supports young carers on a one to one basis to assist them in coping with their caring role. Their aim is to ensure that all carers in Angus receive appropriate information and support to enable them to feel valued and confident in their caring situation and to develop their own potential.

The grant will fund a full time Young Carer Development Worker to build relationships with teaching and non-teaching staff in school communities to embed an all school approach to young carers’ identification across Angus. As school staff better understand the problems that young carers face they will be able to improve support provided for young carers’ attainment and welfare. They will also be able to identify more young carers and enable them to seek additional support through community and respite groups.
